Lake View Corner Store & Pizzeria: A Hidden Gem for Delicious Pizza and Subs

Today I went in to pick up the food I ordered. Took a few minutes to ring me up but they had another customer in there and phone was ringing. When I paid they said it wasn't ready yet. I waited a few minutes said I would be back in I had a little one in the car. They asked me what car was mine and they would bring it out. I didn't have to wait much longer. The lady apologized said any time it takes longer let them know I have a kid in the car and they will bring it out. She stated their cook didn't show up. When getting home. (Angola.) Food was still hot. We were impressed. We never would of known they were scrambling around due to the cook not showing up. This isn't the first time we ordered from them. We have never have been disappointed with our food. Besides when they changed whatever they use for spinach in the Calzones.

Update improving review below (increasing to 4 star from 3) : ordered delivery, was very pleased. Sauce was much better, a bit heavy on black pepper but it had flavor. Mozzarella sticks were great, even with delivery time (great execution on timing with delivery) and fries were good. All other aspects of pizza were spot on with before; like the consistency. Would order again. The pizza presentation, Crust flavour and crisp is great. cheese and pepperoni have great flavor and not loaded with grease. The bad which greatly affected the score: sauce was flavorless tomatoe paste, order area and kitchen filthy (actively leaking cieling tiles and swollen, stained broken tiles everywhere) and staff although friendly were all over the place, It was a bit of a zoo. Blue cheese was likely rooties, which is good. If the store was cleaner and staff was more organized, I'd likely go back once in awhile for a change up. In this case, most likely wont.

Great food, fast service, and reasonable prices. I've ordered there twice the past month and was blown away with the stinger sub. My son ordered the meatball parm sub and also gave it 2 thumbs up. I highly recommend this place.

Personally feel this is the best pizza in lake view. But since everyone has a different opinion, I can describe their pizza to see if it's how you like it. They use a bit thicker crust, and it's cooked to about medium. Not gooey but not crunchy other than the end crust. Sauce is usually medium amount, sometimes closer to heavy, and has a bit of a sweet flavor. Cheese is usually medium to heavy amount, and is a good restaurant grade mozzarella. Pepperoni is plentiful but not obnoxious amount, it's cut to medium thickness and is mildly spicy. Usually they have a slight browning to the tops but rarely get a tiny bit of black / burn on them. The pizza comes out quite greasy, I usually mop up some grease off the top with paper towels. Its very delicious if you leave the grease on but I just want to reduce the amount of cholesterol I'm consuming.. not that eating pizza is a good way to do that anyway lol. Staff is always very nice and responsive, and I never have to wait more than an hour for our order to be ready, unless doing delivery which can take a bit longer.

This spot has great food at great prices and a friendly staff. Everything you want to see in your neighborhood pizzeria!
